Who we are
“Salamat Clinic” began as a vision by Abdullah Panah, D.O., DABOM, a Jersey Shore native with deep Afghan roots. Born to immigrant parents who fled decades of conflict in Afghanistan, Dr. Panah entered medical school at just 19 years old and became a board-certified family medicine physician by 26. His background, experiences, and global perspective shaped the foundation of what is now Salamat Longevity Clinic. There’s no better name than Salamat as it literary translates to Life and Vitality in Persian.
From an early age, Dr. Panah was fascinated by why some individuals age gracefully—remaining energetic, vibrant, and independent well into their 70s, 80s, and beyond. Through medical training, community experiences, and world travel, he learned that longevity is not a mystery—it is a combination of biology, lifestyle, nutrition, movement, emotional health, and daily habits that compound over time.
Growing up within Afghan and Iranian communities, he observed how adults often maintained better health and aging outcomes than many of their American and European counterparts. Their diets were naturally lean, minimally processed, rich in whole foods, and rooted in centuries of tradition. Even after adapting to American life, many preserved these cultural dietary habits—and the results were visible.
Traveling through countries like Japan and Israel, Dr. Panah again saw how communities thriving into old age shared similar patterns:
Consistent daily movement
Balanced, whole-food nutrition
Low reliance on processed foods
Strong social and emotional wellness
These observations aligned deeply with the scientific understanding of longevity: aging is inevitable, but the pace of aging is highly modifiable. We can influence how we age, how we feel, and how our bodies perform—starting at any stage of life.
With this philosophy, Dr. Panah created Salamat Longevity Clinic, a place where modern medicine, cultural wisdom, longevity science, and personalized care come together. His goal is to shift healthcare from reactive treatment to proactive transformation—empowering patients to optimize metabolism, improve emotional wellness, maintain a strong physique, prevent chronic disease, and look as good as they feel.
While medications have their place, Dr. Panah believes deeply in explaining the science, prescribing sustainable lifestyle changes, and helping patients reduce long-term dependence on pharmaceuticals whenever possible.
Today’s world offers countless examples that redefine what aging looks like.
From celebrities in their 70s and 80s still thriving, to everyday people in their 90s going viral for their strength and fitness, one truth is clear:
Age is just a number—but your habits determine the story behind it.
